Services are Available for Victims / Survivors : Client Advocacy
The client advocate assists the victim/survivor by:
- Providing information to help reduce fear of the unknown
- Encouraging and supporting the choices of the client
- Preparing and attending with the client throughout the process
These processes include, but are not limited to:
- Police – Information, Reports, Procedures, Complaints
- Crown Attorney & Victim Witness – Information & Accompaniment
- Criminal Courts – Information, Witness preparation & Accompaniment, Victim Impact Statements
- Probation & Parole/Conditional Sentence Supervisors
- Criminal Injuries Compensation Board – Assistance with the claim process
- Referrals to Other Agencies & Service Providers
