Services are Available for Victims / Survivors : Community Outreach and Education
The agency has identified the need for community outreach and education since it’s inception in 1975.
Board and/or staff members provide promotional activities, networking or sitting on community committees (which address violence in the community).
Education
Prevention through education is an on-going goal and priority of the agency.
We provide speakers to high schools, organizations and various groups in Thunder Bay.
In addition we have provided workshops and training over the years to care-givers/professionals in Thunder Bay and the region including; Dilico, Children’s Aid Society, OPP, Thunder Bay Police, VCARS, Ontario Works and others.
We have facilitated training workshops in Fort Frances, Sioux Lookout, Terrace Bay, Marathon, Nipigon, and Kenora.
Requests for Presentations or Training Workshops
- We require 3 weeks notice for a presentation (under 3 hours)
- We require at least 2 months notice for in-service training/workshops (4 hours or more)
- There is a fee charged for in-service/training/workshops.
