Group Counselling

Group counselling including support groups is available for adults 14 years and up. These sessions do not replace one-on-one counselling - they are another way to support those who have experienced sexual abuse or assault. It's an opportunity to share experiences in an informal setting to better understand your own experience, and to realize you are not alone. Participation is entirely voluntary, and those who attend sessions are not expected to speak until they are ready.

Survivors of Sexual Abuse

The agency provides a 13-week coping and education group to examine the individual healing process for survivors of childhood sexual abuse in the following areas:

  • Family of origin issues
  • Shame/guilt/denial
  • Relationships/sexuality
  • Self-esteem
  • Anger/grief
  • Healing feelings
  • Addictions
  • The "Child Within"

Sexual Assault Survivors' Group

The agency arranges group counselling sessions for survivors of sexual assault based on need.

Details about current group counselling sessions will be given during one-on-one counselling sessions.
